Booking Sweet Catering in Bali: Questions to

Ask Before You Pay

Sweet catering disputes almost always trace back to assumptions made before payment. A short list of direct questions, answered in writing, prevents most of them.

First, scope. What does the price cover — food only, or food plus stands, staff, delivery, and clearing? Ask your catering provider for inclusions and exclusions in one document. If you want savoury canapés alongside the sweets, check whether that's in-house or sourced from a partner like a Bali food brand.

Second, numbers and timing. When are final guest counts due, and what's the policy if they change? Confirm delivery and setup windows, and who is on site to manage the table.

Third, the food itself. Where are the desserts made, and can you taste before committing? A supplier confident in their kitchen — or sourcing from a dedicated bakery — should welcome a tasting.

Fourth, heat handling and venue fit. Ask which items hold up outdoors. If you need a venue or are hosting off-site, a private-event organiser can confirm what a space allows outside caterers to bring.

Finally, payment terms: deposit, balance due date, and cancellation policy — all in writing. Rates and deposit norms vary, so confirm every figure in writing before you commit.

Get scope, timing, tasting, heat handling, and payment terms in writing before you pay any deposit.
